The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers is delighted to announce it is working with award-winning media and communications agency Morrison Media as part of its preparations for the 2022 AIG Women’s Open at Muirfield.

The R&A announced last year that the world-famous links course in East Lothian would be the host venue of next year’s Championship.

The Honourable Company, which has held the men’s event 16 times, is looking forward to making history when it welcomes the world’s top female golfers to Muirfield for its first AIG Women’s Open Championship, in August 2022.

Club Captain Michael Beamish said: “The AIG Women’s Open is one of the most prestigious international majors on the golfing calendar and we are delighted to have been chosen as hosts. We have an important story to tell as we prepare to welcome the Championship to Muirfield, and we look forward to working with Morrison Media to help tell Muirfield’s story.”

John Morrison, Managing Director at Morrison Media, said: “Muirfield is without doubt one of the best golf courses in the world and we are delighted to be working alongside the Honourable Company as it embarks on an exciting new chapter in the club’s rich history in the run up to next year’s AIG Women’s Open.”
